Thanks to everyone who came out to Jen Bekman Gallery last night for the official launch party and walk around the Lower East Side!

We swung by Green Depot where Caleb Mulvena and Colin Brice from MAPOS showed us how they converted the former YMCA into a sustainable building material showcase.

Later on we visited the Storefront for Art & Architecture where the lovely Joseph Grima demonstrated the building’s Transformer-like qualities.

Then it was time for gelato! Pumpkin, olive oil, dark chocolate and pomegranate, thanks to il laboratorio del gelato. That’s the awesome Jeffrey Teuton helping me scoop.

Pumpkin was a big hit…it tasted like you were carving a jack-o-lantern in your mouth!

These people made time for gelato even though they were going to see Where the Wild Things Are!

Lovely to see friends that I hadn’t seen much of since last summer.

Nice stacking work by the fantastic MobileLibris.

Hosang Park’s photography of Korean parks provided the perfect gelato backdrop.

My New York ladies were looking fine, I must say.

Our littlest guest couldn’t have any gelato, but he did make the perfect date for Debbie.
Thanks to everyone who came, ForYourArt and Jen Bekman (who sadly was in SF!) and her excellent staff. And thanks to everyone who bought a copy! Hope to see you sometime during the rest of the week!
More party and walk photos right this way…
