GOOD is throwing a party for CicLAvia this Saturday!

If you know me, you know there are three things I love more than anything: eating, drinking, and walking. And I fully support any activities that allow me to do all three at the same time. That’s why I’m super supportive of the fundraiser I’m helping to organize for CicLAvia this Saturday!

If you don’t know about CicLAvia, you should! Based on regularly-scheduled car-free events that started in Bogota, Colombia but are now are happening all over the world, CicLAvia opens streets to walking and biking, allowing local residents to not only enjoy an awesome new public space, but also to see for themselves what their city could be like with a few less cars in the streets. After a tremendously successful event in 2010, they will be having three more events this year, on April 10, July 10, and October 9, but to do so, they’ll need to raise enough money to close the streets.

GOOD LA stepped in to support one of the most progressive initiatives happening in the city by doing what we know best: Throwing a huge party! So join us Saturday at Atwater Crossing, a beautiful new cultural complex in Atwater Village, where we’ll have live music, free beer from New Belgium (makers of the oh-so-appropriately-named Fat Tire), free samples of food from new trucks like Yalla and Ahn-Joo, as well as old favorites like Coolhaus (who will be serving rocky road ice cream, of course!). We’ll also have fun family activities like a bike ride to the river, yoga, dodgeball, and bike clinics.

All of this can be yours for a $20 donation, but I’ve got a secret link that will allow you to purchase tickets today only for only $15. Go here or input the code goodlovesyou and you’ll be able to get 25% of all tickets until midnight tonight. Even if you can’t make it to the party, buy a ticket anyway—all proceeds go to benefit CicLAvia and help give me a new place to walk.
